There is no 'definite' chronology for many periods of Ancient Egyptian history, and the Amarna Period is no exception, however the table on the left shows one version.

This chronology takes year 0 of Akhenaten's reign as its start point, and gives events relative to that. Many of the dates are the subject of intense debate but some points are generally accepted. Akhenaten reigned for 16 years, Tutankhamun came to the throne at the age of 9, and between the two there was a shadowy figure, Smenkhkare.
