Queen Tiye, Akhenaten's Mother

Queen Tiye was the wife of Amenhotep III and mother of Akhenaten. One theory also holds that she was the Mother of Tutankhamun.

Queen Tiye was a regular visitor to Akhetaten, and is represented on a number of inscriptions there, accompanied by Akhenaten. When she died she was originally burried on the Akhetaten royal tomb, although when the Amarna period came to an end her mummy was moved to the Valley of the Kings.
